The people behind myWintersport
Michael
Co-founder
Michael grew up with winter sports and was on the Austrian slopes from the age of three. After working in IT for years and gaining extensive experience with online platforms and booking winter sports holidays, he kept running into the same problem: information about ski resorts, associated accommodations, ski rental, and ski lessons is scattered across dozens of sites, is often outdated, and rarely honest. That is why he built myWintersport: a single place where you can truly compare resorts, with up-to-date snow and weather data, reliable figures on slopes and lifts, and direct booking options. He is responsible for the platform, the data, and the technology. In winter, you will most likely find him early in the morning on an empty slope, and for the rest of the year, working on the next improvement to myWintersport with a laptop.

Kristel ensures that myWintersport feels like advice from a friend who knows the mountains. She focuses on content, the villages, and the experience of travelers skiing for the first time or traveling with children. Where Michael looks at data, she looks at the feeling: is the village cozy, how far is it to walk to the lift, is there something to do if it rains, and does the story match reality? She visits areas herself, takes Lucas along to research the next destination, and looks at the best accommodations in a ski resort. Her goal is simple: that no one comes home feeling like they have chosen the wrong destination.
