How to choose the right ski resort
- Beginners: look for a high share of easy (blue) slopes, such as in Les 3 Vallées or Tignes - Val d'Isère.
- Families: short transfers and wide, easy runs matter more than size. The SkiWelt is a good example.
- Snow certainty: choose high altitude or a glacier, like Zermatt or Tignes - Val d'Isère, especially early or late in the season.
- Après-ski: Ski Arlberg and Ischgl are known for it.
- Short drive: the Austrian resorts are the closest to the Netherlands, at around 9 to 10 hours from Utrecht.
